Growing up in a Catholic household, I was often exposed to religious art and iconography. Over the years, the meaning and connection to religious art have changed. This relationship with religion is something that I continue to explore and it is with that idea that I have been revisiting many well-known religious works. It also underscores a theme I revisit over and over and over in my work. The idea that you must always assess and reassess the world and your place in it. Take something familiar and attempt to look at it from a different perspective. You may discover something new that transforms you into something you weren’t yesterday.
