ABOUT THIS PAINTING
I think it is often presumed that paintings that look like this are done quickly or at the very least, in a short amount of time. (I hear this often.) However, this painting took nearly two years to complete. It began as a horizontal painting of me, laying outside in a lawn chair, under our big, old Oak tree, at 2:00 AM, beneath the Summer, night sky day dreaming about a world where we all just lived peacefully and no one had to fight for survival. And then it just kept evolving from there as I never felt like it was complete. The funny thing is even after two years and many, many layers of paint, the underlying theme is still the same. The tree may be gone. The night sky might be gone. But that dream still exists.
