Without question, my favorite paintings are portraits of real people for real people. It is the one thing that transforms an abstract, creative idea into something tangible that you can connect with on a personal level.

This is one of the reasons that I always paint portraits. It is the center of life and nothing is more complex and layered. Everything that we are is present. How we see, how we listen, what we say, what we think and how we connect with the world around us.

CAPTURING SOMEONE SPECIAL

Before any paint goes down on the canvas, we get to know each other better. We can connect however you are most comfortable; email, phone, messaging, video chat, or in person. This helps me understand you better and capture what makes you unique.

Your painting is very intentional. Every brushstroke, color selection and line has a purpose. It’s not about being abstract for the sake of abstraction. It’s about presenting your uniqueness as nobody has before.

Featured Portrait - Blake & Kelsey

I had the wonderful honor of painting a portrait of one of the nicest couples you will ever meet. Blake and Kelsey have big hearts and from their smiles, you can tell that kindness follows them wherever they go. Kelsey commissioned this portrait as a surprise gift to Blake. A conversation with Kelsey led to a bunch of personal symbols that are important to their relationship and family. If you look closely, you may discover some obvious symbols but there are others that are, well, personal. :) Thanks Blake & Kelsey!

HOW IT WORKS

Step 1: Contact me and let me know you are interested in more info about a portrait.

Step 2: We discuss your ideas, size, price and timetable. Price is simply related to the size and scope of your painting. If you are happy, we discuss a small down payment to reserve your spot in line and move to step 3.

Step 3: I get to work painting. It is your decision if you would like to see progress pictures or not. Some people like to be completely surprised and don’t like to see progress pictures. Others like regular updates to see the painting evolve. Know, that I do take progress pictures along the way. So, you will be able to see the progression upon completion, either way.

Step 4. Completion. I will notify you when your painting is complete. Final payment is due prior to shipping. Tracking and insurance will be provided.

Step 5. The Fun Part! Hang your personal portrait!
